The Jain temples of North India are quite different from the Jain temples of South India. There are two types of Jain temples:
Shikhar Band Jain Temple
Ghar Jain Temple (without peak)
The main part of the temple is called "Garbha Graha". The idol of God is established here. It should not go without bathing and without clothes of worship.
The temple which is more than 100 years old is called Teerth. The Lord residing on the main altar is called the head of the temple. There are many temples in Jain society where the idols are kept in place. Such temples are called chaityalis, in which Digambar Jain Taran Panthi go to worship. They are found more in Bundelkhand Huh.
